El proyecto “Contra-Visualidades/Sonoridades Anticoloniales” parte de la poca visibilidad que tienen las publicaciones y prácticas de investigación artística audiovisuales, aquellas que articulan la crítica en las intersecciones de la teoría marxista, la teoría fílmica feminista, el transfeminismo, la opción decolonial y las luchas anticoloniales. Su marginalización o incluso el borrado en el ámbito del arte requiere confrontar las condiciones de producción, valorización y validación de conocimiento imbricadas en el sistema capitalista tecno-racial. La investigación se plantea a través de un enfoque transdisciplinario que integra estudios culturales, estudios de los media, teoría marxista, teoría fílmica transfeminista, postcolonial y decolonial, para abordar la persistencia de la colonialidad visual, sonora y digital del capitalismo tecno-racial que perpetúa las jerarquías coloniales, también a través de algoritmos, plataformas tecnológicas y mediaticas. Se estudian las prácticas de investigación artística audiovisuales trans*diasporicas – aquellas que transforman e inciden de modo radical en nuestra experiencia sensible y se materializan en formatos experimentales y expandidos. Abarcando el contexto de las múltiples fronteras externas/internas del Sur y Este de Europa se analiza cómo el capitalismo tecno-racial y la amnesia europea continúan moldeando las dinámicas políticas, sociales, culturales y artísticas, las estructuras de poder y las fronteras que marginan a las comunidades migradas y racializadas. El análisis en torno a la imbricación de género y sexualidad en los régimenes de acumulación racializantes plantea desafíos importantes para el feminismo hegemónico y el movimiento LGBTQI+ occidental, al revelar que el eurocentrismo y el racismo están entrelazados en las nociones universales del sistema binario de género. La investigación se centra en el estudio de articulacion política de contra-visualidades/sonoridades que desafían los relatos y estructuras hegemónicas. Al explorar los modos alternativos de producción digital, las prácticas artísticas audiovisuales trans*diasporicas presentan potencialidades para desentrañar y resistir las estructuras y lógicas sistémicas de poder, incorporando la visibilidad y la opacidad de manera estratégica. Este enfoque busca una transformación radical, confrontando las dinámicas extractivistas que afectan no solo a los recursos naturales, sino también a las vidas, al conocimiento, el arte y temporalidades. Una serie de trabajos artísticos representativos, la reflexión crítica y ética colectiva son aspectos que ayudarán a generar un conocimiento significativo y relevante en el ámbito de arte, así como contribuir al diálogo académico y cultural en torno a los procesos de descolonización y reparación.

The project “Anticolonial Counter-Visualities/Sonorities” stems from the limited visibility of audiovisual artistic research publications and practices—those that articulate critique at the intersections of Marxist theory, feminist film theory, transfeminism, the decolonial option, and anticolonial struggles. Their marginalization or even erasure within the art world requires confronting the conditions of knowledge production, valuation, and validation that are entangled within the techno-racial capitalist system. The research is approached through a transdisciplinary framework that integrates cultural studies, media studies, Marxist theory, trans-feminist film theory, and postcolonial and decolonial theory. This is to address the persistence of the visual, sonic, and digital coloniality of techno-racial capitalism, which perpetuates colonial hierarchies through algorithms, technological and media platforms. The study focuses on trans*diasporic audiovisual artistic research practices—those that transform and radically impact our sensory experience and materialize in experimental and expanded formats. By encompassing the context of the multiple external/internal borders of Southern and Eastern Europe, it analyzes how techno-racial capitalism and European amnesia continue to shape political, social, cultural, and artistic dynamics, power structures, and borders that marginalize migrant and racialized communities. The analysis of the entanglement of gender and sexuality within racializing accumulation regimes poses significant challenges to hegemonic feminism and the Western LGBTQI+ movement. It reveals that Eurocentrism and racism are intertwined in the universal notions of the binary gender system. The research focuses on the study of the political articulation of counter-visualities/sonorities that challenge hegemonic narratives and structures. By exploring alternative modes of digital production, trans*diasporic audiovisual artistic practices present the potential to unravel and resist systemic power structures and logics, incorporating visibility and opacity strategically. This approach seeks a radical transformation, confronting extractivist dynamics that affect not only natural resources but also lives, knowledge, art, and temporalities. A series of representative artistic works, along with collective critical and ethical reflection, are aspects that will help generate meaningful and relevant knowledge in the field of art, as well as contribute to the academic and cultural dialogue on processes of decolonization and reparation.
